Trump leads Nevada by 63K votes on Wednesday afternoon

Updated November 6, 2024 - 5:32 pm

President-elect Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris in Nevada by 63,000 votes as of Wednesday afternoon.

Trump has about 51.5 percent of the votes counted so far and Harris received 46.8 percent.

In Clark County, the only county in which Harris is leading, the vice president has 49.7 percent of the vote, while Trump has 48.6 percent.

“We’ve had a phenomenal victory nationwide in Nevada,” Nevada GOP Chairman Michael McDonald said in a statement. The chairman and senior adviser to the Trump campaign said he is proud to lead the team in closing the voter registration gap in Nevada, and “it is thanks to the hard work of our team that put President Trump over the finish line. We look forward to winning Nevada.”

Nevada has not supported a Republican for president since 2004, when President George W. Bush was re-elected, and only twice since 1912 has Nevada not picked the candidate who won the White House.

Mail ballots will continue to be counted for the rest of the week in Nevada. No news organization has called Nevada for Trump, although he has clinched victory in the Electoral College and will begin his second term as president in January.

Nevada State Democratic Party Executive Director Hilary Barrett said in a statement Wednesday that thousands of mail ballots in Clark County and across the state have yet to be counted or received, and “we are confident that once every vote is counted, Nevadans will reelect Senator Jacky Rosen, Congresswoman Susie Lee, and other Democrats in key races up and down the ballot.”
