Findlay’s Trier, Gorman’s Jeter, Zimmerman make McDonald’s All American rosters

Three Southern Nevada boys basketball players were among the 24 who made McDonald’s All American game rosters that were announced Wednesday.

Findlay Prep shooting guard Allonzo Trier and Bishop Gorman posts Chase Jeter and Stephen Zimmerman were named to the 12-player West squad.

The game will be April 1 in Chicago.

Trier, who has signed with Arizona, is the leading scorer for Findlay Prep, ranked No. 5 in the nation by USA Today.

Trier is the 10th player from Findlay Prep to be named to the McDonald’s game. Kelly Oubre and Rashad Vaughn played in last year’s game.

The 6-foot-11-inch Jeter, who has signed with Duke, and the 7-0 Zimmerman provide an imposing inside presence for Gorman, the top-ranked team in Southern Nevada. Zimmerman is among the top uncommitted players in the senior class.

The only other Gorman boys player to play in the McDonald’s game was Shabazz Muhammad in 2012.
