Donald Trump showing spite and vengeance with health care edicts

e Review-Journal editorial page and other conservative outlets feel about Obamacare. They have screamed about rising costs and the loss of choice by program participants. OK, fine. But now when we hear how the president is purposely taking steps to make things even worse for those who have come to rely on the program, where are their voices?

The Trump administration and the Republican Congress failed to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Much more importantly, however, they failed to come up with any reasonable and compassionate replacement. So what does Mr. Trump do? He purposely is trying to pull the rug out from the health insurance program, a program that has been providing insurance to millions of Americans. He publicly admitted he would be taking such steps.

Does he have this power? You bet he does. Should he be using this power? Absolutely not. And yet, not a word of rebuke from those who said they were concerned about presidents overreaching their constitutional authority.

The steps taken by this president mean nothing but hurt, pain and loss of access to medical care for our citizens. All for no reason but spite and vengeance. If the Review-Journal really wants to continue to call itself a paper of any importance, its editorial staff should review the steps being taken by President Trump and report the facts.
