Here come the legal parasites to cash in on the Las Vegas Strip massacre

As expected, the leeches and vultures are now coming out of the woodwork to sue MGM and/or the Mandalay Bay. The victims say that this is not about money, but about trying to get the hotel to implement better security. This is, of course, a big lie.

One suit claims that the hotel was “negligent or grossly negligent” in failing to notice or take precautions against the shooter stockpiling guns, and that employees were not adequately trained to notice and report suspicious activity.

It will be interesting to see if the lawyers ever define what the hotel could have or should have done differently.

The hotel could require that all customer bags be X-rayed, just as at the airport. This would, of course, be very expensive and detrimental to good customer relations. Or perhaps the hotel could institute a policy of entering every guest room once every day to check for illicit activity. This would also be very expensive and might actually be illegal — not that the leeches and vultures care about such fine points.

In my opinion, these types of lawsuits are immoral and reflect badly on the legal profession. But such actions make lots of money for the legal profession, and that’s what it is all about: money, money, money.
